Personal Training FAQ
How long will it take to see results?
Results depend on many variables such as age, nutrition, commitment level, learning curve, prior exercise experience, etc. We take body fat and other various measurements every six weeks to show progress and modify the exercise program and/or nutrition as necessary. Most people will see and feel results in 6-8 weeks with at least four days a week of exercise and proper nutrition.
Do you incorporate nutrition?
Yes. Nutrition is a vital element for success. Please see the nutrition page for more information.
Will you provide workouts to do on my own time?
Yes, absolutely. Many clients will train 1-3 days a week at the studio, and for the other days we provide workouts to complete on your own.
What if I travel a lot? Do you provide workouts while I'm away?
Many clients travel and are always looking for exercises and routines to do while they're away. All training packages include custom fit circuits based off the program you're on, the equipment available wherever you're going, and the amount of time you have. As you progress, the routines and exercises will change thus allowing for continued progress while you travel.
What form(s) of payment do you accept?
We prefer checks or cash, but accept all major credit cards, Paypal, and Square Cash.
What should I wear to my initial consultation?
For your initial consultation just wear comfortable clothes. We will talk more than walk so don't worry about getting sweaty.
Where do you work? Will you come to my apartment gym or a park?
We work exclusively out of a private studio located in San Francisco at 1844 Market Street. At the moment this is our only location for training. Please see the studio page for pictures and more information.
Can I come early or stay after the session?
Yes. Once you're comfortable with the prescribed foam rolling and static stretching protocol, you can (and we encourage) you to do this on your own. This allows us to maximize our time together.
Can I come to the studio on my own time?
Unfortunately no. You can come before or stay after your session, but coming on your own is not allowed.
Are you insured and certified?
Yes. The studio and all trainers have professional liability insurance. Please see the about page for relevant certifications.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 24hr cancelation policy.
Do you offer refunds for unused sessions?
Yes, we offer refunds on unused sessions less a 15% fee of the refunded amount.
I have never been to the chiropractor and heard if you start going, you have to go the rest of your life, is that true?
Just because you start, doesn't mean you have to keep going. But just like you go to the dentist and get your haircut regularly, people often find they perform better mentally and physically from regular check-ups from their chiropractor and make it part of their wellness routine.
I don't like having my neck twisted or cracked. Does it hurt?
Chiropractic adjustments typically do not hurt and actually offer relief from pain symptoms. The techniques Dr. Grey practices at Equipoise Chiropractic don't involve twisting, cracking or popping, so people often prefer this form of gentle care.
I'm not in any pain, why should I see a chiropractor?
Preventative care in all forms is almost always cheaper and easier. It is no different with chiropractic care. Chiropractic care does much more than resolve symptoms, but it also can boost mental processing, reduce stress and improve immune system functioning.
Can chiropractic help me with _____?
Most people think of chiropractors as just helping with headaches neck and back pains. However, but by correcting spinal misalignments, symptoms beyond those pains can improve.
What forms of payment do you take? Do you take insurance?
Equipoise Chiropractic takes all forms of debit and credit cards, including HSA accounts as chiropractic is an accepted healthcare expense. While we do not directly bill health insurances, we do generate a superbill for patients to be reimbursed by insurances.
What's your cancelation policy?
We require a 24 hour notice either via email, phone or voicemail. That allows us to book any other last minute clients that might want the spot and ensure everyone is able to get the care they need when it is convenient for their schedule.
How do I become a new patient?
Patients can book online at eqc-ga.com or they can call the office at 415.722.9432. They will get emails on how to easily fill our new patient paperwork and reminding you of your appointment.
What can I expect from the first visit?
The first visit patient stop by the office and get a tour of the facility, including CustomFit. They then review their health and medical history with Dr. Grey in his office before completing a thorough exam. After the exam, Dr. Grey will make suggestions of the best next steps for starting care.
